Our courses are open to all motorcyclists who already have their full licence and a machine capable of the national limit. The courses are tailored to suit the ability and requirement of each student. Whether you want to tune up your existing skills or learn new ones, increase your confidence, prepare for your advanced test, are returning to riding after a break or simply want to develop your skills still further, we have a course to suit you.

The courses take you step by step with personalised coaching and help you to develop, build and expand your skills. I demonstrate, explain and teach the techniques that are used by professional riders so that you too can use them to become the best rider that you can be and:

Police Advanced Riding Techniques
These tremendously enjoyable and most popular courses are more practical than theory, with 95% of the motorcycle safety training taking place on the open road. Much argument and debate has taken place about the best riding method. One organisation that has never failed to impress with the skill and precision of its riders is the police; it has always led the way. On the Mike Waite courses, that you might ride to the very best of your capabilities, your trainer passes on to you the advanced techniques of the police system.

Mike Waite, an ex-police motorcycle instructor of vast experience set up these motorcycle training courses and has trained hundreds of motorcyclists in the police system of riding and motorcycle safety. Your SortedRide motorcycle training course instructor, Terry Dodd, has been chosen, and personally trained to the highest standard, by Mike Waite to pass on these skills to motorcyclists of all abilities.
Back to Biking Version
The Back to Biking versions of the courses update your skills and arm you with the techniques for defensive riding which help you to keep yourself safe in modern traffic conditions. As well as equipping you with bike control techniques that allow you to cope with the higher performance of modern sports bikes or the extra weight of modern touring bikes.
Preparation for an Advanced Test Version
The Preparation for an Advanced test versions of the courses equip you with the knowledge and practice necessary to prepare you for success in your IAM or RoSPA advanced test.
The Confidence Builder Version
These Confidence Builder versions of the courses are designed to "take you by the hand" and guide you through easily and safely so that you too can become a confident rider.
The Cornering Clinic
The Cornering Clinic is not a course in itself but a two hour (approx) clinic designed to give you a flavour of what a full course is like and at the same time pass on lots of useful information that you can use to improve your cornering. We ride miles of twisties doing lots of bends. It's about the techniques for road bends, improving your technique for real world bends including the principals of positioning; when and how to use brakes, gears and throttle, where to look and how to use what you see.
Insurance Discount Certificates
Why not earn your own certificate which could reduce your insurance premium year after year? An insurance discount certificate is available to every rider who completes any of our courses and shows a competent ride at the end of the course. Any rider issued with a certificate is then in line for an insurance discount of up to 17% Special offer - this is included FREE with all of our Mike Waite courses for a limited period.
The Enhanced Rider Scheme courses
These courses are a mixture of practical and theory. The DSA, in conjunction with the motorcycle industry, have devised a new package of training known as the Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS). The scheme is intended to benefit all bike riders who have a full motorcycle licence, irrespective to the size of bike, or the experience level of the rider. Terry Dodd is on the DSA register of post-test trainers and is approved by them to deliver the Enhanced Rider Scheme training.
